APS film stopped being produced around 2011 with supplies petering out from retailers by 2013. Any film you buy from any source will be between 1997-2012. Avoid most 400 ISO film, as it is too old. Before buying, check the film is unexposed (full circle, 1).
Recommended brands are Fuji, Kodak 100/200 15/25 or 40 exposures. Lesser brands such as Ferrania (used at jessops, boots, FNAC etc) have not lasted well.
Best film to buy: CN400BW (black and white) and E6 (Japan only).
Worst film to buy: 400 ISO - a gamble at best
We sell a selection of expired films one of the only retailers in the UK to supply it.
We can process and scan of course, with dedicated APS equipment from Canon and Noritsu -- so the film ends up back in the cassette as per design. We do not use a flatbed scanner.
Note that we are not offering E6 processing at this time to customers. The cost of the equipment has been high. We think we need about 20 films to process in a batch in order to use up all the chemicls. Their lifetime is not as great as C41 chemicals. We have around 8 films in the queue and testing is required.
Patience would be appreciated in awaiting processing. This is a evening/weekend business only.

DownloadAll cassettes have caps to seal and are incompatible with later (post 1974 plastic cassettes) .
The black cassettes were designed based on LX type cameras where the recess for the camera spring had to be added which helps eject the cassette.
When using we found the cassette was too tight to get out of some VEF cameras .
So we made a revised grey version. This was because of customer complaint ..Measuring four VEF Minox and comparing later cameras we found that the VEF had a smaller inner chamber and a different shape in the bridge area.
So we had to make a smaller cassette, and also widen the film gates to make it easier to fit pads. We could not find a supplier of pads thin enough to fit
The result is that most VEF cameras and therefore all 8x11 cameras work fine with one caveat
We used aluminum then anodized for light tightness. We could therefore make make cassettes that are more finely engineered than the originals. Since the aluminum is thicker than the plastic we insist that any film must be cut exactly 9.0mm high and no more than 59cm long (36 exposure) to fit without issues.
We have designed a matching precision made 9.0mm cutter from 135 film. All issues came from customers using the wrong sized cutter .
Black cassette fit C's onwards. The cases are also anodized for engraving.
