APS film stopped being produced around 2011 with supplies petering out from retailers by 2013. Any film you buy from any source will be between 1997-2012. Avoid most 400 ISO film, as it is too old. Before buying, check the film is unexposed (full circle, 1).
Recommended brands are Fuji, Kodak 100/200 15/25 or 40 exposures. Lesser brands such as Ferrania (used at jessops, boots, FNAC etc) have not lasted well.
Best film to buy: CN400BW (black and white) and E6 (Japan only).
Worst film to buy: 400 ISO - a gamble at best
We sell a selection of expired films one of the only retailers in the UK to supply it.
We can process and scan of course, with dedicated APS equipment from Canon and Noritsu -- so the film ends up back in the cassette as per design. We do not use a flatbed scanner.
