About US

Subminiature & Minox since 1970

The original (GR)  Hobbies business was owned by Mr Bob Gerard, ERA racing driver, who operated from his Honda garage at 7 Pike Street from 1970-1991.

From 1991 to 2016, the business now MS Hobbies was operated, still in Leicester, then Nairn, by Mr Steve Britton. From 2016 until 2026, MS Hobbes (Limited) was operated by me, an ex-customer of GR and MS Hobbies since 1982.

A green solution

The  bonus of an 8x11m camera is that cassettes are re-loadable, and most cameras do not require a battery.

Many customers cut, load, and scan own Minox films. One 135 film can breed 4 x 36 exposure Minox films, and may be 8 x 25 exposure films, depending on film vendor.

Long term view

This is a part-time business operated as a service at weekends to the many Minox fans world-wide.

As long as I have the ability to subsidise and support the business myself, it will continue. We are not financially supported by Minox in any way.
