Kodak Disc Film

The Kodak Disc system was introduced in the early 1980s as a compact consumer camera format using a flat plastic disc containing fifteen exposures.

Although discontinued, Disc cameras remain in use. MS Hobbies supports Disc film users with limited film supply, processing, and high‑quality scanning services, with an emphasis on archival recovery and documentation.

Disc Film Availability

Disc film is supplied from expired stock only.

Available film dates from approximately 1986–1994.

Due to age and storage history, results from expired film cannot be guaranteed. Colour shifts, reduced sensitivity, and increased grain may occur. These characteristics are typical of aged colour materials and form part of the historical record of the format.

Processing and Scanning Services

  • Develop and scan — full disc (15 exposures)
  • Scan‑only service for already processed Disc film

Disc film is processed and scanned as fully exposed. Individual frame selection is not supported.

Photographic print services are not offered.

Pricing (United Kingdom)

  • Scan‑only (15 exposures): £12.00 per disc
  • Develop and scan: £17.50 per disc

Pricing is per cartridge and reflects handling and scanning time rather than image count.

International Context — Disc Film Processing

Disc film processing is now a specialist legacy service offered by a small number of laboratories worldwide. Pricing varies significantly by country due to labour costs, chemistry availability, and scanning workflows.

Country / Region Typical Service Indicative Price Range
United Kingdom Develop & scan £15–£25 per disc
United States Develop & scan $25–$40 per disc
Canada Develop & scan CAD $30–$45 per disc
Western Europe Develop & scan €20–€35 per disc
Japan Scan‑only ¥3,000–¥5,000 per disc

Prices shown are indicative and provided for context only.

Printing Advice

Direct photographic printing is not offered for Disc film.

Disc scans print well using instant cameras such as Fuji Instax, where the small negative size and characteristic rendering of the format are well suited to instant output.

For conventional printing, customers are encouraged to review scanned files carefully and select modest print sizes appropriate to the original negative format.
