Minox cameras (Minox 35 mm or Minox 8×11 mm) for repair or servicing.
Scope of service:
MS Hobbies repairs Minox 35 mm and Minox 8×11 mm cameras only.
Other brands are not serviced.
Before sending your camera
If possible, carry out the checks below. This helps distinguish operational issues
from battery, contact or accessory problems.
- Test shutter behaviour (with and without film)
- Check film advance for smooth movement
- Check viewfinder clarity
- Test flash using the correct flash cover
- Check batteries:
- Minox 35 → PX27 (Chameleon or equivalent)
- Minox 8×11 → Golden Power
- Clean battery contacts
- Confirm correct polarity
Important notes
Accessory compatibility matters:
Several common faults are caused by incorrect flash covers or batteries.
- Flash covers are not interchangeable. A mismatched cover will prevent synchronisation.
- PX27 batteries do not fit Minox 8×11 cameras.
- No full overhauls: repairs are targeted and fault‑specific.
Premium repairs — VEF Riga / Minox II
Early VEF Riga and Minox II cameras require specialist handling, close tolerances
and in some cases custom‑made components.
These repairs are undertaken by prior agreement only.

Turnaround
Standard Minox repairs: approximately 2–3 weeks from arrival.
Premium VEF Riga / Minox II repairs may take longer.
Shipping (UK domestic)
- Royal Mail Special Delivery recommended
- Pack securely with padding around the camera
- Include your name, return address and email address inside the parcel
If film is inside the camera, send it as‑is.
Do not attempt to remove or rewind unfamiliar mechanisms.

No payment is requested until the assessment is complete and work approved.
