Minox cameras (Minox 35 mm or Minox 8×11 mm) to the United Kingdom
for repair.
Service scope:
MS Hobbies repairs only Minox 35 mm and Minox 8×11 mm cameras.
Other brands are not accepted.
Customs declaration (Switzerland → UK)
Important: Incorrect customs wording is the most common cause of delays.
Fill the customs form exactly as follows:
- “Camera for repair – returning to UK technician”
- Value: CHF 20–30 (technical, non‑commercial value)
- HS‑code: 9006.59
- “TEMPORARY EXPORT – REPAIR AND RETURN”
Where possible, the repaired camera is returned in its original packaging.
This helps demonstrate that it is a
used camera returning to its owner, not a new import.
Shipping advice
- Prefer Swiss Post for predictable customs handling
- Avoid couriers with high clearance fees (UPS, FedEx)
- Use a sturdy box with internal protection
- Include your name, email address, and a short fault description
If film is inside the camera, send it as it is.
Do not force unfamiliar mechanisms.
Return shipping to Switzerland
Returns are sent via Royal Mail International Tracked.
Typical transit time is 5–10 days.
