Cassettes Interest

Production date is aimed for March 2021, Tier 4 lockdowns permitting. We will send cameras and test cassettes to key customers for user acceptance testing before then.

Pre-orders for a 3 for 2 offer are available. Many thanks to the small number of customers who have commited to buy. 

Minox Enlargers

There is considerable confusion about the best Minox enlarger to use a Minox camera.

i am testing enlargements with various models to find the best fit. My previous assumptions of enlarger suitability are unsound.  More on tihs next month.

One issue is that I have an colour enlarger with the fixed lens with an earlier serial number than a black and white enlarger with an interchangeable lens.

Cassette funding

We are thinking about crowdfunding this. We need enough for cassettes, felt, film loading equipment and packaging. 

There will be several levels of offering:

1. Cassette only no film loaded: specify LX or non LX camera
2. Cassette with choice of film
3. Cassette with choice of film and personalised engraving on case and cassette

If each customer ordered a minimum of 2 cassettes I would need 300 cassettes to make casthe first order worthwhile. 

So far, total cassettes requested if interested is about 20.

Cassette Design

We now have:-

1. manufacturing price for the cassette

2. A supplier of the innert felt. Unlike the modern plstic cassettes, felt will encircle the film.

3. A take up spool design based on the VEF 'clip' model

4. interest from a small number of customers < 10 so far (17th October, with a possible 10 resereived out of an initiual batch of 100.

Next steps are to fund the first order.
